Kevin B. Shaw leads the Naval Research Laboratory Digital Mapping, Charting and Geodesy Analysis Program (DMAP) that focuses on advanced geospatial modeling, object-oriented database design and geospatial portal and broker implementation for improved Naval, DOD and other public service missions. Mr. Shaw has 22+ years of geospatial experience at the Naval Research Lab leading many firsts in advanced object-oriented database and portal system design and development including the development of the broadly utilized Geospatial Information Database (GIDB®) Portal System, US Patents 6,684,219, 6,950,828 and 6,950,929 with US Trademarks 2,957,434 and 2,852,412. The DMAP team has published >13 book chapters and over 100 technical publications documenting substantial contributions to the geospatial field. Mr. Shaw received a B.S. in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University in 1984, a M.S. in computer science from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1987, and a M.E.E. in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University in 1988
