Joseph P. Cruz

Senior Analyst
Homeland Security and Justice Team at the US Government Accountability Office (GAO)

Mr. Cruz is currently a Senior Analyst on GAO’s Homeland Security and Justice Team. His current portfolio of work focuses on information sharing issues for homeland protection as well as transportation security. While at GAO, Mr. Cruz has worked on a broad range of issues related to program management, information security, and information technology. He has conducted reviews at the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, and Defense, among others.

Mr. Cruz earned a Bachelor’s degree in political science, history, and a specialization in business and administration from the University of California at Los Angeles. Mr. Cruz also earned a Master’s degree in public affairs with concentrations in finance and information systems from Indiana University at Bloomington. Mr. Cruz also holds a Chief Information Officer Certificate from the National Defense University and is currently a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
