Steve Fogarty Steve Fogarty, regional security manager with ARES Corporation, has been leading the development of technology solutions in the security and safety community for the past 15 years. As both a director and investigator, he led the advancement in modeling tools for the B-52, B-2 and F-15/F-16 Weapon System Safety Assessments for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. In this role, he directed detailed response analysis on numerous facilities and personnel from explosive and fire driven releases of chemical and radiological material. Mr. Fogarty lead the project team to mitigate risks associated with critical and sub-critical experimentation for the National Nuclear Security Administration at the Nevada Test Site. These activities involved the risk quantification and mitigation efforts for high-hazard category facilities including transportation. Related expertise includes the assessment of weapon systems to mechanical, thermal and electrical insults and the creation of predictive tools for nuclear proliferation. Recently, Mr. Fogarty has directed the successful completion of a three-phase multi-agency development effort for the Automated Vulnerability Evaluation for Risks of Terrorism (AVERT®) tool. AVERT is an asset protection technology that models terrorist attacks in a graphical 3-D interface allowing users to predict and analyze potential security breaches. Mr. Fogarty holds technical degrees in mathematics and nuclear engineering.
