About the Conference

On a typical day, more than 1.1 million passengers and pedestrians, including over 630,000 aliens, over 235,000 air passengers, over 333,000 privately owned vehicles, and over 79,000 shipments of goods are processed at the nation’s borders. A top Administration priority since the events of 9/11 has been to improve immigration controls and security along the borders with Canada and Mexico.

Homeland Defense Journal is sponsoring a conference that will bring together subject matter experts from the government and industry to discuss what’s next in border security planning and priorities after the recent award under the SBInet procurement. Attendees will be able to learn how the executive and legislative branches propose to address the problem of border security and what technologies are potentially available to support the government's efforts. Attendees will also learn about upcoming legislation and federal initiative relating to border security.
