About this Workshop:

This Geospatial Intelligence 101 workshop provides a solid introduction to the processes, methods, and products of Geospatial Intelligence. The course is intended to provide an overview for new Geospatial Intelligence users in government, law enforcement, and industry, with a practical introduction to use of important geospatial tools. Attendees are provided with an understanding of the types of Geospatial Intelligence analyses and products, and an overview of the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG).

About Your Instructor:

Timothy L. Waltz

Tim Waltz is an Intelligence Staff Officer with Applied Systems Research, Inc. posted to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Headquarters, where he conducts studies and analyses related to Advanced Geospatial Intelligence (AGI) methods.  He completed three years of intermediate and advanced flight training in the U.S. Navy, reaching the rank of LTJG, with over 600 flight hours in turboprop and jet aircraft. Previously, he was a sensor technician at Veridian, where he conducted laboratory and field tests of advanced electro-optical and synthetic aperture radar sensors. He holds a BA degree from Concordia University and is in the Systems Engineering Masters Degree program at George Washington University.

CANCELLATION POLICY: You may designate a substitute in writing any time before the event. If you need to cancel your registration, you must send your notice in writing and will be subject to a $50 processing fee. No refunds are given for cancellations received one week prior to the event start date or later. PLEASE NOTE: No shows will be liable for the entire registration fee. In the rare occasion that the event is cancelled or postponed, please note our reimbursement is limited to paid tuition only.

Workshop Location:

The workshop will be held in the Homeland Defense Journal Training Center in the Jefferson Plaza Building at 1421 Jefferson Davis Highway (7th floor), Arlington, VA 22202. Public parking at the facility is available for $10.00 early morning special (before 8:00am) or $18.00 all day. The Jefferson Plaza Building is just two blocks from the Crystal City Metro Station on the blue and yellow line. Please note: the parking garage is located on Crystal Drive.
