Workshop will not only teach you how to write and submit a successful
grant application, but you will learn tips to beat your competition
by creating an application that wins high peer review points.

process.

Diana
Amy Chidsey offers over ten years of governmental
research, evaluation, program administration and successful grant
writing expertise, focusing on the public safety sector. Mrs.
Chidsey currently shares this expertise with her governmental
and non-profit clientele, affording them the benefit and advantage
of her knowledge in the competitive world of grant funding. Mrs.
Chidsey has vast resource development experience with a particular
focus on Department of Justice grant funding.

This session will review the critical differences between
reactive grant writing and program planning, and will describe
the planning efforts that need to occur for proposals to be seriously
considered by funders.

This session will review sources of federal, state, and private
funding, and will demonstrate effective methods for researching
grants and maintaining relationships with funders.

This session will explain how to assess each funding
opportunity to determine if it is a good fit for your organization.

Grants
This session provides direction on how to plan for and begin the
grant writing process properly, and will provide an introduction
to the key grant writing points required to write a winning grant.

This
session will review the individual components of a grant application,
explaining the purpose of each section, what funders are looking
for, and key tips. Successful samples of grant application components
will be reviewed.

This session will review the grant evaluation process,
and will teach you how to handle a rejection as well as an award.

3:15pm: Program Implementation Requirements
This session will teach you the key steps for successful
program implementation, an essential requirement to receive continuation
funding. This session will also review a number of reasons for
why programs fail and how they can be prevented.
