About
this Workshop:
Is your city, organization, hospital, or public agency prepared to respond, provide care, transport, and sustain standards of care that apply to the population in your area? Do you know who the contact person is for your specific area? Do you have the capability and the capacity to care for the mass casualties that may occur in your area? Which agencies, organizations, hospitals and/or facilities in your area are available to respond, treat, transport and to care for your community in case of a disaster? How are supplies and equipment going to be used and reused should supplies become insufficient? How is your community going to handle a large number of casualty deaths?
This interactive workshop will focus on the processes involved in establishing organized systems to limit the loss of life during a scalable or mass casualty incident. The coordination, collaboration, and communication of efforts with police, fire, EMS, hospitals, CERT and other community resources will be discussed and utilized in the workshop. The workshop will identify what planning, guidance, and tools/resources are needed to ensure an effective community agency, health, and medical care response to a mass casualty event. The workshop will also assist you and your organization in developing a planning process to establish an Incident Command, Unified Command, an Emergency Response Coalition, and sustaining your alternate care site.
